Mushtaq Qadri is considered to be a mentor of Owais Qadri.Īt first, Qadri was an imam at the Madinah Masjid, in Orangi Town, Karachi. In 1986, Mushtaq Qadri gave his spiritual allegiance ( bay'ah) to Silsila Qadriya. Mushtaq Qadri Attari was an associate of the spiritual guide and leader Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Qadri, the head of the Barelvi Islamic movement Dawat-e-Islami. His nikah (matrimonial ceremony) was conducted by his mentor Muhammad Ilyas Qadri. Before permanently moving to Karachi, he lived for some time in Faisalabad. (approximately 1 January 1967), in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Some of his other popular Naats are Fasloon Ko takaluf hai hum say agar, Zahe Muqadar and Qaseeda-Burda Shareef.Mushtaq Qadri was born on 18th of the month of Ramadan, 1386 A.H. In 1972, Qari waheed zafar read his first Naat, which is Arba-e- Qaseeda (Allah Hu Allah Hu) on television, which got very popular all over the world.

After that he did many programs on television as well although radio gave him the greatest exposure. This program provided him the various opportunities to proceed further in this field and helped bringing him to the limelight. He started Radio programs in 1970 and the first program that he did was “Sar Chashma-e- Hidayat”. Then again in 1981 he won a competition in Syria. In 1980, he won a competition of Tilawat-e-Quran-e-Majeed in Saudi Arabia By the grace of Allah He won the first competition in 1969 in Malaysia for Pakistan and thereafter in Libya in 1979. Qari waheed zafar participated in many international competitions. The honor for Durood-o-Salam inside the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) in 1987 is the most cherished event of His life. By the age of 9, he had learned Quran-e-Majeed by heart and had also learned Qirat. At the same time he started reciting Naat and Hifz of the Holy Quran as well. Qari waheed Zafar starts reciting Quran-e Majeed from the age of 6 or 7. In some areas Muslims also exchange gifts as well. On these occasions sweets and drinks are also distributed widely from home to home, and to the general public as well. In many countries a procession is also conducted on 12th or 17th of Rabiul Awal night and day. Muslims generally put coloured lights on roads streets and their homes and put green flags as well to celebrate. In some areas celebrations begin as early as the first of the month and can continue till the end of the month. The celebration of the Mawlid is done differently depending on the country. The name Rabī‘ al-awwal means the first month beginning of spring, referring to its position in the pre-Islamic Arabian calendar before the practice of intercalation was abolished. Sunni Muslims believe the exact date of birth of Muhammad to have been on the twelfth of this month, whereas Shi'a Muslims believe him to have been born on the dawn of the seventeenth day. During this month, Muslims around the world celebrate Mawlid - the birthday of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Rabi' al-awwal is the third month in the Islamic calendar.
